Help OpenRouter
Get an OpenRouter API key
OpenRouter puts many model providers behind a single API key. You add credit once, and it works across their whole catalogue. Keys start with sk-or-v1-.
Sign in to OpenRouter
Go to openrouter.ai and click Sign in at the top-right. A popup opens with options to continue via GitHub, Google, MetaMask, or an email and password. New accounts are created on first sign-in.
Open the API Keys page
Create a new key
Click + New Key at the top-right of the table. Give it a name like
Majikso you can recognise it later. You can optionally cap the key with a credit limit (per month or total) — useful as a safety belt: even if a key leaks, the loss is bounded. Leave it blank to allow the full account balance.
Copy the key now
The full key is shown once, immediately after creation. Copy it before closing the dialog — OpenRouter only stores a prefix afterwards. If you lose it, create a new key and delete the old one.
Add credits
OpenRouter is prepaid. Open openrouter.ai/settings/credits and top up your balance. A small amount goes a long way for image generation; you can always add more later.
Paste the key into Majik
In Majik, open Settings → Provider, find OpenRouter, and paste the key. Models routed through OpenRouter will then appear in the model picker.
